Environmental Energy Consultants/Solis Farm-Bourbon, Missouri
Solis Farm’s mission is to educate families to a simpler way of life using affordable, energy efficient, alternative, sustainable building and living methods and the importance of having a place that is comfortable to call home. A place to relax and enjoy the best parts of life. It’s the place you look forward to coming to when life gets a little hectic. My grandparents and mother encouraged my creativity and it was during these formative years that I began to understand the connection of the words “living off the land”, “grow what you eat” and “Don’t live beyond your means.”

Farwig Farm-Union, Missouri
Farwig Farm is a small family farm in Union Missouri. Started by Anna and Korey Hart in 2014, the Harts moved to the farm to raise their family and food in a healthy sustainable way. The Harts quickly found that others also had a great interest in eating happy healthy food and began small scale production of pork, poultry, turkey and honey as well as their personal garden. The farm produces all non-GMO pastured poultry, pastured heritage breed turkey, and heritage breed pork. The Harts renovated their 160-year-old home with an eye towards energy efficiency and have brought back the original timber frame barn. The farm is continually evolving; future goals include a rotational grazing system for their pork and the addition of sheep or goat.
Farwig Farm products are available directly from the farm. You can follow them on Facebook or contact them directly at 314-960-9439 or FarwigFarm@gmail.com.

Silver Seed Farms-Leasburg, Missouri
Rex and Lori of Silver Seed Farms have been living a natural, more sustainable lifestyle since 1994 after moving into a tent in the forests of Leasburg. They began building sustainably from the ground up, building the first known strawbale house in Missouri, the Missouri Octagon, with only hand tools and a love for the earth. Find out what it is really like to live a natural life in a strawbale house, off-grid with solar power. Tour their home and premises to understand how they emphasize natural building, solar energy, composting, recycling/reusing/upcycling, organic gardening and harmonizing with nature.
